Silas Schäfer is an artist based in Bern, Switzerland. His work uses narrative image-making as a way to listen to and interpret the world, rooted in an interest in interpersonal relations and the phenomenological dimensions of perception — focusing on how thought and feeling interact in processes of meaning-making.

Drawing on a background in psychology and philosophical inquiry, he works with analogue and digital photography while expanding his practice through spatial, sound-based, and performative approaches, including selected collaborations in dramaturgy and creative coordination.

His work navigates tensions between intimacy and distance, the individual and the collective, concreteness and abstraction, attentive to the resonances that emerge between images, bodies, and spaces.
